Project Description:

Construction of an administrative/research laboratory (1,200m²) facility at Carna, Co. Galway adjacent to an existing facility. The works incorporated an extension and upgrade to an existing sea water intake system to facilitate the research and experimentation associated with marine life.
Part of the upgrade to the existing system was the installation of new electrical infrastructure. The change over process took place within a four hour period to prevent loss of marine life. Works took place on the seabed to install a new suction line to the existing pump house. The existing filter vessels were upgraded and a new suction line was also installed to connect to the new building.
