Refurbishment, upgrade and fitting out of an existing clinic to form a Sexual Health Centre. In the pre-contract award discussions with the Trust and Architect Ansell & Bailey, there was a clear desire to deliver a project that is not only clinical in function but creates a space that welcomes and encourages the local community to visit. Central to the design concept is the idea that the consultation ‘pods’ should be part of the waiting area and thus, more integrated. The project was awarded a prize at the Health Service Journal Awards, in the Clinical Service Redesign category.
